Random 80's Wednesday

Anna Domino - Tempting (from This Time, 1987) Legal Download
Way of the West - Drum (7" Single, 1982)
Electric Guitars - Work (7" Single, 1981) Legal Download
The Honest Johns - Grandfather of Gold (7" Single, 1986)
White And Torch - Who's Asking You (7" Single, 1982)

Commentary:
I don't know much about Anna Domino except she was on a cool label (Crepescule) and I love those fish earrings.
The Electric Guitars track is for Simon AKA Torchomatic, otherwise known as "god" to indie mp3 hunters of a certain age. Simon has a new and exciting blog called Coincidence Vs Fate. The Electric Guitars are now on iTunes thanks to Bristol Archive Records who have been re-releasing a lot of interesting 80's music lately.
I'm also featuring a Way of the West track to highlight the fact that their back catalogue is also available on iTunes, more information can be obtained here.
The Honest Johns track was emailed to me by Phil and as well as being a golden oldie, the band have also been releasing some new stuff which you can check out here. Thanks Phil.
I'm surprised I haven't featured anything by the excellent duo White & Torch before, so I'm fixing that this week.

My new singles arrived safely in the mail so I will be posting those once I have cleaned them up, probably later this week.

Wow ... thanks for the Torchomatic and Way of the West news (I'm downloading the Way of the West album as I type).

Saltya and Co. did a long Anna DOmino entry a while back at http://saltyka.blogspot.com/search?q=anna+domino; more than you'll ever want to know but it did turn me onto Kid Montana. -- a great LP now available online.

Hi there. Thanks for the tracks. You certainly post bands I have never heard before, and I thought I was so knowledgeable about 80s music! One request: Can you post the whole album by Hitlist? I would imagine it is just as good as the track you posted by them awhile back. Keep up the great work. You have a wonderful site.

Aw shucks, A, thanks for the kind words. However, you deserve the bigger thanks as I wouldn't have started again using this blogging thing if it hadn't been for your site.

Thanks too for the Electric Guitars track, it'll be night to here something else by them as I've always loved the "Language Problems" track.

I was going to up "Drum" so you've saved me a job, perhaps I'll dig out the 12" single and post that instead.

I bought a couple of Anna Domino things basically just because she was on Crepuscule, the same label as my hero, Paul Haig.

Hi fifty. If you don't mind, I'd just like to request if you could also post the LP of The Roaring Boys please? I only know their song "House of Stone" that I really like and just thought maybe they have other gems in their album. Thanks.

White and Torch...did you ever hear "Bury My Heart"? I thought that was just an incredible song which despite being a forgotten 80s classic now sounds very fresh indeed, when listened through a fog of 60s meets 80s nostalgia.

The first Mine For Life release is now available

After a long period of silence, I can confirm that I am finally releasing my own music. I've spent almost seventeen years focused on col...
