Private Lives - Prejudice & Pride (BY REQUEST)

I've had several requests to re-upload this album. What's held me back is that I don't own the original, and the tracks I have are in various bit-rates and condition. But, seeing as I don't expect to get the album myself anytime soon, here is what I do have.

BREAK THE CHAINS
This one I ripped myself from the 7" single. Ripped at 320 kbps.

FROM A RIVER TO A SEA (EXTENDED MIX)
Found on the internet. Ripped at 192 kbps.

LIVING IN A WORLD (TURNED UPSIDE DOWN)
Found on the internet. Ripped at 320 kbps.

NO CHANCE YOU'LL PAY
Found on the internet. Ripped at 320 kbps.

DON'T WANNA CRY (ANY MORE)
Found on the internet. Ripped at 320 kbps.

BREAK THE WHOLE THING DOWN
Found on the internet. Ripped at 320 kbps.

GOD ONLY KNOWS
Found on the internet. Ripped at 320 kbps.

STOP
Found on the internet. Ripped at 320 kbps.

FROM A RIVER TO A SEA
Found on the internet. Ripped at 320 kbps.

WIN (YOU'VE GOT TO)
Found on the internet. Ripped at 320 kbps.

PREJUDICE & PRIDE
Found on the internet. Ripped at 320 kbps.

LIVING IN A WORLD (EXTENDED MIX)
Found on the internet. Ripped at 148 kbps.

BREAK UP
The B-Side of "Living In A World". Very crackly, I'm afraid. I found it under a tire. Ripped at 320 kbps.

John Adams (writer and lead vocals) is a bit of a dour bloke, isn't he? I'll post his 1987 solo album next if there is any interest. It's a bit more upbeat.

Wow, THANKS fifty!!! These are rare and I don't mind the vinyl pops/crackles. Would be great if the album would be re-issued. It happened with the debut albums of Vitamin Z and The Adventures... so it won't hurt to dream of a remastered/re-issue with bonus tracks. :)

Vitamin Z's debut has been reissued last year with bonus cuts.

Nick Beggs of Kajagoogoo played some bass on the Private Lives record.

Awesome beyond belief. My copy is long lost, and all I had were recordings from when I was playing three tracks from this LP in rotation at my tiny noncommercial FM in, yes, 1984. Thank you!

I've got three 7" vinyls by this band, but never heard anything else so to have that chance now is great. Like others, I'd gladly buy a CD reissue of this album.

Thank you so much. My original copy of Prejudice and Pride disappeared many, many years ago and it's great to hear it again.

Just wondering if a music video exists for any of the songs. I played " the" girlfriend in one video but I never got to see it on mtv.

Strange to come acroos this site and view all these comments. My family has copies and I believed we were the only ones. I was brought up on 'Living in a World' and 'Break the Chains'.I was very proud of my uncle then and in a funny way I still am now.A very fond memory I have is of me being at the Duran Duran concert as John was support artist and I went back stage and Simon said god you look like your uncle.

Every so often my vinyl copy of Prejudice and Pride surfaces in my record collection, and this morning was another of those occasions! A superb album, I'm astonished it's not been released on CD. Interesting reading the old posts about Vitamin Z albums - I have those on vinyl also. Just been on a trawl round the net and now have John Adam's solo album Strong playing as I write!
